Animal Reiki
Frequently Asked QuestionsFind clear, reassuring answers to common questions about Animal Reiki, what happens during a session and how your animal can choose to participate. Every experience is gentle, respectful and guided by your animal’s comfort and individual needs.
What is Animal Reiki?
Animal Reiki is a gentle, heart-centred healing practice that offers your animal a peaceful space to relax, rebalance and simply be.
Each session honours your animal's own wisdom, allowing them to receive exactly what they need.
How Does Animal Reiki Work?
Reiki is a gentle flow of healing energy that is offered with love, compassion and respect. Your animal chooses whether to receive it and guides the session in their own way.
Reiki supports relaxation and emotional wellbeing, but it is not a replacement for veterinary care.
Do You Come to My Home?
Yes, I can do home visits if you are located in Radlett, Shenley, Elstree & Borehamwood. There is a small travel fee for areas exceeding 5 miles from Radlett train station. I’m looking to expand soon but for now, these are the areas I can travel to.
If you are outside these areas, please do still get in touch and we can discuss.
Most sessions take place in your animal's own home, where they feel safest and most at ease. A familiar environment often allows for a calmer, more relaxed experience.
Can A Session Be Done in a Park?
Absolutely. If your pet feels happiest outdoors, we can meet in a quiet park or peaceful open space with as few distractions as possible.
How Long Does a Session Last?
Most sessions last around 45–60 minutes, although your animal decides the pace.
Some may wish to receive Reiki for a shorter time, and that's perfectly okay.
Does My Animal Need to Be Touched?
No. Reiki can be offered without physical touch. Your animal is always free to move around, rest or choose how they would like to receive the session.
Wherever the animal is, they will receive the Reiki energy.
I find that those animals that seek touch will move closer to my hands to indicate their touch consent.
What Animals Can Receive Reiki?
Reiki is suitable for all animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, horses, birds and many others. Each session is tailored to their individual needs.
How Will My Pet Feel After Receiving Reiki?
Every animal responds in their own way. Some become deeply relaxed and sleepy, while others may seem brighter, calmer or more content. Your pet may also simply carry on as normal. Reiki supports your animal's natural state of balance, so every experience is unique.
An aftercare guide will be sent before your first session.
How Many Sessions Will My Pet Need?
There is no set number of sessions, as every animal is different.
Some pets may benefit from a one-off session, while others may enjoy weekly support or a monthly session as part of their ongoing wellbeing.
We will always work at a pace that feels right for your animal, allowing their comfort, needs and responses to guide the journey.
How Will I Know If Reiki Has Helped?
Some owners notice their companion seems calmer, more settled or deeply relaxed after their very first session, while others observe more subtle changes over a number of sessions.
Every experience is true to the animal.
Can Reiki Replace Veterinary Treatment?
No. Animal Reiki is a complementary therapy that works alongside veterinary care.
If your animal is unwell or injured, they should always be seen by a veterinary surgeon.
